Following the Owen Wright, Adriano De Souza saga Richie Collins has applied for the asp wildcard after the cut off in August on the basis that he invented the backside floater. Richie is currently caught in between applying and taking up the coaching job as Owen Wrights coach. Many of the top pro’s including Jordy Smith and Gabe Kling have approached Collins to be there coach aswell. I approached him for a comment but he was to busy yelling at young surfer chicks so I walked away. There has been a lot of inquiries for the wild card position by ex pros such as Barton Lynch, Cheyne Horan and Vetea David. They all applying because it seems the scoring has gone back to the old points system. Who knows DoomasRumors might even get back on tour.

When I say “top to bottom” I was trying to say the judges decided to be equal, brazilians always get in a heat losing by 2 point at least but now the time is changing and all the fuck vegemite faces, burger eaters and pineapple heads are tasting a little bit of their own poison! Really how’s anybody kidding? Even I landed a couple of solid backside floaters on the weekend but didn’t even come close to landing a clean frontside slob! I know what I’d rather see any day. Guys is pretty clear in my mind a floater never beat an aerial, but the judges are scoring brazilians in a even way these days. Brasil always lose in tied heats and today is getting different. also, the asp said it was a big floater in waist deep water for adriano. does that mean that had owen got the same wave and done a floater that he would have lost points for the wave being smaller but gained points for the sandbar being shallower? afterall, he is 6ft taller than adriano, especially the way adriano spreads himself out when he surfs….
Bad judging is bad judging, quit making excuses for it. Adriano is obviously a good surfer, not on the eyes, but he deserves to be on tour. However, i don’t think i can handle watching another brazo claim a poorly surfed wave. Owen most definitely got robbed, only a brazo is gonna claim different. As for brazilians in general, I have a few good friends from there, not all are worthless. Everywhere i travel its the same story, aggressive brazos that can’t surf. I am from brazil, but let’s face it, Owen won that heat! This is so clear as crystal water. I whish i was celebrating the fact that for the first time a brazilian is the number 1 on a ASP tour, but i am not! I whish brazilian surf could be compared to ausie or american surf as equal, but it can’t. This doesn’t mean we don’t have potential, it just mean in general we are STILL not in the same level (and i can give a dozen of reasons for that, but this is not the point here). But we are working on that, and surfwise, getting more and more respect every year (Mudina / Jadson / Danilo Couto / Pupo / Gentil…..)
What really bother me is the fact that all agressive comments, diminishig our country and our people, only happens because it is brazil. If you see an american getting ripped off against an ausie, nobody would be being agressive to each other, they would be talking only about the heat, but not about the country or the people.
